First Easter Egg Hunt

I can't say enough how much I love our playgroup.  Today we went to the Grapevine Botanic Gardens and set up an Easter Egg Hunt for them.  We didn't go to any egg hunts last year so this was our first one.  He picked it up pretty quickly.  They all had a great time.

The fountain was a big attraction

T loved the fountain!

Checking out our goodies, that I may have already helped myself to some kit kats

We asked them to hug one another and this is what we got

We hope that everyone has a great and hoppy Easter!

First Haircut

Monday I finally broke down and let his Aunt Carissa cut his curls off.  He was growing the most adorable mullet one has ever seen when the curls got too heavy.  We attempted to put a cape on him but, he would have nothing to do with it.  So undershirt it was.  He a was little grabby at first each time she went to cut a section but, he eventually paid more attention to Chuck the Truck on the iPad.  He was a champ and looks so handsome and grown up now.

And for being such a good sport, an early Easter basket

Hi fives for doing a good job!

And then this little lady was born Monday morning.  This is Ava, our friends, Kristin and Jason's new baby girl
And Ethan's future wife.

It has already started to look thicker and fuller since Monday.  As seen here from our playtime outside today.  He is really enjoying the new larger backyard.  Including the channel that is back there.  There are often ducks.  Today he was able to catch the Bobcat go back and forth clearing it out.  All I heard was "tuck, tuck, tuck!"

Trying to escape to follow Turk, who did escape

A little fuzzy but, man, he looks like Robert in this one

Turk, come back!

When did he get so big!?!

My little love

21 months

June is approaching us too quickly!  This little guy is one month closer to being two!

There hasn't been a lot of change over the past month as far as milestones are concerned.  Some of our favorite things right now are:

His pirate face
His cat impersonation
His dolphin impersonation
Robert taught him to show his guns
He loves to fist bump EVERYONE.
He eats lemons with the rind, no sour face

He has learned the color blue.  I am just starting one color at a time, however long that takes.

Some of his favorite things right now:

Playing with trains
His sunglasses
Making people, including strangers, play with his sunglasses
Construction vehicles
Most vehicles
Reading
Turk

Yesterday we took a break from house stuff and we met Sarah and Abigail at the Grapevine Botanic Gardens.  While it wasn't the warmest day they still had a great time.

A romantic kiss at the park

A quick break to smell some flowers before we go.

They were so excited to see each other

Hey Mom, birds!

Happy Friday!

The Flynn's get some new digs

We are now calling The Colony home.  We have been here for 5 days and of course are still getting settled.  We got everything moved in on Friday.  As usual, things did not go as planned.  But, by dinnertime on Friday night we were enjoying pizza, beer, and wine to celebrate getting it all done.  Thanks to my mom, Martin, and Chris for helping us out Thursday and Friday.

Ethan stayed with Gram for the weekend so that we could get a few things done without having to worry about keeping him out of trouble.  He celebrated his Great Grandma Flynn's birthday by joining us in his new house on Sunday afternoon.  (I can't believe it has been a year since we took our trip to Arizona to celebrate her 90th birthday, Happy Birthday Grandma Flynn!)  He has taken to the change pretty well.  The only time he seemed to be uncomfortable was his first nap on Sunday.  It was short and he seemed frightened in a new place.  Since then he has been back to normal.  Phew!

He is really loving the new staircase.  Gates were quickly installed!

Here are few pictures of the house before we start work on it.  Please note that most of these pictures are the photos from the MLS websites.  We didn't get a chance to take our own yet.  But, I look forward to taking everyone on a virtual tour as we make our progress.  We have had a parade of contractors in here this week.  I am ready for things to be done and back to normal.

We have since had some tile installed in the master bathroom to get rid of that carpet and the other baths are in the process.  I will update by room as we finish each room.

The weather has been terrific this week.  We took advantage one day and took a stroll to the neighborhood park.  It is Ethan approved.
Loves the swings!

When did he get so BIG!!!
